Bensebaini Out of Algeria’s November Training Camp

Algiers, Algeria – Defender Ramy Bensebaini will miss Algeria’s November training camp and the friendly matches against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced Sunday.

The FAF stated that Bensebaini is suffering from lower back pain, leading to his exclusion from the camp, which runs from November 10th to 18th. The decision was made following consultations between the national team’s medical staff, his club Borussia Dortmund, and national team coach Vladimir Petkovic.

The friendly matches against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia are scheduled for November 13th and 18th, respectively, and will be played in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Bensebaini’s absence represents a setback for Petkovic as he prepares the team for future competitions.

Coach Petkovic opted not to risk further injury to the player, prioritizing his full recovery before he returns to competitive action. The coach wants to avoid any potential complications and ensure the player is fully fit for future engagements with the national team. The decision highlights the importance placed on player welfare within the Algerian national setup.

DZWatch will continue to provide updates on the Algerian national team and Bensebaini’s recovery.
