Algiers – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, presided over a reception at the National Army Club in Beni Messous on Saturday evening, November 1, 2025. The event commemorated the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious November 1, 1954 revolution.
The reception was held in honor of senior officers of the People’s National Army (ANP), both active and retired, and was attended by a number of high-ranking state officials. Upon arrival at the National Army Club, President Tebboune was received by Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the ANP.
The event, which is part of the ANP’s long-standing traditions of celebrating significant historical milestones and honoring the souls of the martyrs, was attended by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, the Speaker of the National People’s Assembly, the Prime Minister, the President of the Constitutional Court, and members of the government. Also present were the Commander of the Land Forces, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Defence, the Commander of the Republican Guard, the Commanders of Forces, the Director of the Cabinet at the Ministry of National Defence, the Acting Commander of the National Gendarmerie, and the Commanders of Military Regions.
Furthermore, Heads of Departments, Directors, and Heads of Central Services at the Ministry of National Defence and the General Staff of the ANP, as well as senior state officials, national figures, and mujahideen, were in attendance.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, performed by the Republican Guard’s musical ensemble, followed by the performance of two revolutionary anthems from our rich heritage. Subsequently, attendees watched a documentary entitled: “November Revolution: Epic of Glory… and Path to Victory,” produced by the Directorate of Information and Communication of the ANP General Staff.
The event concluded with a spectacular fireworks display set to excerpts from various national musical genres.
