Algiers, Algeria – The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) is prioritizing investments in vital sectors to bolster the national economy, according to Director General Omar Rekkache. This strategic shift aims to foster innovation, encourage local production, and reduce reliance on imports.
Rekkache’s remarks came during the opening of the “72 Hours of Entrepreneurship in Algeria” event, organized by the national initiative “Shab Fekra” (Young Idea) under the supervision of Anis Ben Tayeb. The event seeks to instill a culture of initiative and entrepreneurship among young Algerians.
The three-day event features a series of training workshops, interactive lectures, and direct meetings between young people, investors, and experts. These sessions are designed to facilitate the exchange of experiences, expand professional networks, and encourage the emergence of innovative projects in various economic fields.
In his opening address, Rekkache praised such youth initiatives, describing them as “incubators for the spirit of entrepreneurship.” He affirmed the AAPI’s full support for any endeavor that stimulates the creation of new businesses.
“We are committed to facilitating investments for the Algerian diaspora, streamlining procedures and providing guidance to transform their ideas into tangible projects that contribute to the national economy,” Rekkache emphasized, highlighting the importance of engaging Algerian talent residing abroad in domestic development projects.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Diaspora, and Cooperation in the People’s National Assembly, a representative of the President of the Council of the Nation, members of parliament representing the diaspora, and members of the Supreme Council of Youth. Economic experts also participated, sharing their insights and experiences on ways to improve the investment climate in Algeria.
