Algiers, November 10, 2025 – Algeria and China are further solidifying their long-standing relationship through cultural exchange, highlighted by the awarding of prizes in the “Search for Young Algerian-Chinese Cultural Ambassadors” project.
The Minister of Culture and Arts, Malika Ben Doudou, along with the Minister of Youth, Moustafa Hidaoui, presided over the ceremony recognizing the winners of this initiative. The project aims to foster deeper understanding and collaboration between the youth of both nations.
In her address, Minister Ben Doudou emphasized the depth and strength of Algerian-Chinese relations, stating that culture serves as an invaluable bridge connecting people. She expressed her hope that this event would further strengthen the friendship between Algeria and China.
The selection process for the cultural ambassadors was rigorous. Initially, 165 entries were submitted. From these, 30 were chosen for the semi-final round, and finally, 15 candidates advanced to the final stage. These finalists underwent individual evaluation by international experts.
Minister Ben Doudou called upon various Algerian industrial and cultural institutions to contribute to this dynamic cultural and diplomatic endeavor. She stressed that the successful projection of Algeria’s cultural and political image abroad requires a concerted effort from all state institutions.
The five winners of the Young Algerian-Chinese Cultural Ambassadors project were awarded a cultural trip to Beijing, China. This journey will provide them with the opportunity to discover the Chinese people, their rich culture, and iconic landmarks, including the Great Wall of China. This initiative underscores the commitment of both nations to fostering mutual understanding and collaboration through cultural exchange programs.
The program is expected to enhance cultural diplomacy and encourage the youth of both countries to act as bridges, promoting understanding and cooperation in various fields.
