Algiers, Algeria – The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced the appointment of Italian goalkeeping coach Guido Nanni to the national team’s technical staff, led by head coach Vladimir Petkovic.
Nanni officially began his duties with the national team during their current training camp in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This camp includes friendly matches against Zimbabwe and Saudi Arabia, serving as crucial preparation for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
“The addition of Guido Nanni reflects our ambition to strengthen the technical capabilities of the national team,” stated a FAF spokesperson. “His extensive experience and proven track record will be invaluable as we prepare for upcoming competitions.”
Guido Nanni brings a wealth of experience to the Algerian squad, having worked with prominent Italian clubs such as AS Roma and Lazio. He also has prior experience in Saudi Arabian football, having coached at Al Nassr. His expertise is expected to significantly enhance the performance of Algeria’s goalkeepers.
Petkovic expressed his satisfaction with the new addition to his team. “Guido Nanni is a highly respected coach, and I am confident that he will contribute significantly to the development of our goalkeepers and the overall success of the team,” he said.
