Africa Cup of Nations 2027 Qualifiers Include Algeria Against Burundi and Togo

Algeria's national football team, known as the Fennecs, is preparing for its campaign in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). The prestigious continental tournament will be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. As part of this qualification journey, Algeria is scheduled to face Burundi in an away match set for Sunday, September 29, 2026.

The encounter with Burundi will take place at Stade Intwari in Bujumbura. The qualification round also includes Togo as an opponent for teams in the group, indicating Algeria's full schedule in these preliminary stages. According to reports from the region, Algeria is considered a global football giant in this context, highlighting the significance of their participation in the qualifiers.

The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations marks a significant event for African football, being the first edition co-organized by three nations. Algeria's involvement underscores its continued presence and ambition within top-tier continental competitions. The team's focus will be on securing a strong position in the qualifiers to ensure its place in the main tournament.
