Algerian Envoy Delivers Message to Angolan President

Luanda, Angola – The President of the Angolan Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, received the Speaker of the Algerian Council of the Nation, Azzouz Nasseri, on Monday.

According to a statement released by the Algerian Council of the Nation, Speaker Nasseri delivered a message from the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to President Lourenço.

President Lourenço requested that Mr. Nasseri convey his sincere fraternal greetings to President Tebboune, expressing his intention to make Algeria the first country he visits in 2026.

In turn, Azzouz Nasseri conveyed President Tebboune’s greetings to the Angolan President, emphasizing Algeria’s readiness to work towards elevating economic relations between the two countries to the level of their political ties. He also expressed sincere gratitude for Angola’s honoring of the late Presidents Ahmed Ben Bella and Houari Boumediene during the 50th anniversary of its independence.

The meeting was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Angola, Mounir Bourouba, and Professor Makhlouf Sahel, Chief of Staff of the Speaker of the Council of the Nation.

Speaker Nasseri arrived in Luanda on Monday evening to participate, as a representative of President Tebboune, in the celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of Angola’s independence, which will be held in Luanda on November 11th and 12th, 2025.
