Algerian Investment Agency Denies “Registration Fees” Claims

Algiers, October 12, 2025 – The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) has released a statement refuting claims that it is demanding payments from citizens and project holders under the title of “Registration Fees.” The agency firmly denies any connection to documents circulating with this demand.

In its statement released today, the AAPI clarified that these alleged documents are entirely invalid and non-binding. The agency emphasized that all official correspondence and documents issued by the AAPI are exclusively channeled through its official platforms and bear the signatures and seals of the relevant authorized departments.

The AAPI’s statement aims to dispel any confusion or misinformation regarding its procedures and payment requirements. The agency reiterated its commitment to transparency and adherence to established protocols in all its dealings with investors and the public.

The agency further stated that it reserves the full right to pursue legal action against anyone found to be impersonating the AAPI or involved in the forgery and issuance of documents in its name. This decisive stance underscores the AAPI’s determination to protect its reputation and prevent fraudulent activities that could harm investors or undermine public trust.

The AAPI encourages all citizens and project holders to verify the authenticity of any documents or requests for payment purportedly issued by the agency through its official channels. This measure is crucial in preventing individuals from falling victim to scams and ensuring that all transactions are conducted through legitimate and authorized means.

This clarification comes at a crucial time as Algeria seeks to attract foreign investment and boost its economy. The AAPI plays a vital role in facilitating this process, and maintaining its integrity is paramount to achieving its objectives.
