Tragic road accidents across several Algerian provinces have resulted in 45 fatalities and 1558 injuries between November 2nd and 8th. According to a report released by the General Directorate of Civil Protection on Tuesday, a total of 1305 traffic accidents were recorded during this period.
The province of M’Sila witnessed the highest number of casualties, with 5 deaths and 63 injuries reported from 44 separate incidents. These figures highlight the urgent need for increased road safety measures and greater awareness among drivers.
In addition to road accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 1087 fire incidents of various types, including residential, industrial, and other fires. The most significant fire outbreaks occurred in the provinces of Algiers, Tizi Ouzou, and Blida. The Civil Protection services demonstrated commendable efficiency in containing these fires and preventing further damage.
During the same week, Civil Protection personnel carried out 5982 interventions, rescuing 469 individuals from perilous situations and providing emergency medical assistance to 5181 people. These interventions underscore the vital role of the Civil Protection in safeguarding the lives and well-being of Algerian citizens.
The high number of road accidents and fire incidents serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and preventative measures.
