Algeria and Somalia Affirm Solidarity on Palestinian Statehood

Algiers, November 11, 2025 – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today affirmed a strong consensus between Algeria and Somalia regarding the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.

The President made the announcement in Algiers following bilateral talks with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. President Tebboune expressed his profound satisfaction with the outcome of the discussions, highlighting the shared commitment of both nations to supporting the Palestinian cause.

“Our discussions with President Mohamud were fruitful and underscored the deep understanding and solidarity between our two countries,” stated President Tebboune. “We are united in our conviction that a just and lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign state.”

The Algerian President reiterated Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their pursuit of statehood. He emphasized the importance of international efforts to facilitate a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on internationally recognized borders and resolutions.

The joint declaration of support from Algeria and Somalia reinforces the growing international recognition of the Palestinian cause and adds momentum to the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a two-state solution.
