The President of the Republic presides over the installation of the Supreme Council for Import Control.

  • President Abdelmadjid Tebboune presided over the installation ceremony of the Supreme Council for Import Control on Wednesday, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
  • The council is composed of representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Trade, Industry, and Customs. It is tasked with reviewing and approving the list of goods that are subject to import controls.
  • The council is expected to play a key role in regulating the import market and protecting Algerian businesses from unfair competition.
  • President Tebboune said that the council is a “major step” in the government’s efforts to promote national production and reduce the country’s trade deficit. He called on the members of the council to work hard to fulfill their duties and to contribute to the success of the government’s economic reforms.
  • The installation ceremony was attended by a number of ministers and senior officials.
