Efforts Intensify to Combat Bourahma Forest Fire in Mostaganem

Mostaganem, October 13, 2025 – Extensive efforts are underway to extinguish a significant fire that broke out in the Bourahma forest, located near National Route 11 in the Ben Abdelmalek Ramadan municipality of Mostaganem province. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior earlier today, local authorities are working diligently to contain the blaze.

The Ministry’s statement indicated that upon the fire’s outbreak, local officials from Mostaganem immediately went to the scene to assess the situation and oversee firefighting operations. These operations are being carried out by the Civil Protection services, with the support of various relevant agencies.

Authorities have emphasized the critical need to mobilize all available human and material resources. They stressed the importance of seamless coordination between different departments to effectively control the fire and limit its spread. Furthermore, they highlighted the necessity of maintaining a high level of vigilance and ensuring a rapid response to protect both citizens and property in the affected area.

Field operations are ongoing, and will continue until the fire is completely extinguished and the situation returns to normal. In addition to ground efforts, a mobile monitoring center has been established at the site. Aircraft from Tassili Airlines Aerial Work are also being deployed to support the firefighting efforts, providing crucial aerial assistance in battling the flames.
