Algiers, Algeria – Ooredoo Algeria has signed four strategic partnership agreements with leading Algerian academic institutions, solidifying its commitment to fostering innovation and developing local talent. The signing ceremony, held at Ooredoo’s headquarters in Algiers on November 11, 2025, marked a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between the telecommunications giant and the academic sector.
The partnerships were formalized with the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), the National Higher School of Computer Science (ESI), the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence (ENSIA), and the Higher School of Business Studies (EHEC). The agreements were signed by Ronnie Tohme, General Manager of Ooredoo Algeria, and the respective heads of each institution: Jamal Eddine Akretche (USTHB), Mouloud Koudil (ESI), Abdelmalek Bachir (ENSIA), and Amal Kasmi (EHEC).
These partnerships aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enhancing the employability of graduates in key areas of the digital economy. Ooredoo Algeria is committed to supporting the development of Algerian talent through various initiatives, including offering internships and supervising student projects within its technical and operational departments. The company will also participate in organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and digital competitions (Hackathons) focusing on future technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, 5G, Cybersecurity, and Data Science.
Furthermore, Ooredoo will support applied research by leveraging its expertise and infrastructure, and launch continuous training programs for students, professors, and Ooredoo employees. The initiatives also include the development of programs aimed at promoting professional integration, entrepreneurship, and local innovation.
