Algiers Governor Issues Strict Directives on Water Distribution, Ramadan Preparations

Algiers Governor, Mohamed Abdenour Rabhi, chaired an executive council meeting on November 13, 2025, focused on vital public services. The meeting addressed water distribution strategies, preparations for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, local development projects, and readiness for the summer season.

During the session, Governor Rabhi issued strict directives aimed at improving public service delivery. A key focus was on minimizing and eliminating water leakages. He emphasized the need to intensify efforts to enhance service quality and expedite intervention times for leakage repairs. The Governor stressed accountability and efficient resource management.

Regarding Ramadan preparations, a comprehensive plan was presented. This plan encompasses ensuring adequate supplies of essential goods in the markets, undertaking internal and external maintenance of mosques, and establishing a detailed public transportation schedule. The plan also includes finalizing beneficiary lists for solidarity grants and processing applications to ensure timely disbursement before Ramadan begins. Furthermore, night-time trader availability will be guaranteed, and locations for charity restaurants and markets will be identified and inventoried.

Concerning local development projects, Governor Rabhi underscored the urgency of completing projects registered under locally funded development programs. He advocated for enhanced coordination between delegated governors and heads of municipal people’s assemblies to accelerate project completion and ensure that programmed operations are finished within designated timeframes. He reiterated the importance of transparency and efficient project management.

In addition to these key areas, the meeting included discussions on arrangements for the upcoming summer season. The aim is to ensure optimal conditions for welcoming vacationers and tourists to the region. The Governor highlighted the need for proactive measures and collaborative efforts to provide a positive experience for visitors.
