Nabeul, Tunisia – Tunisian authorities have apprehended three Algerian brothers wanted in connection with a brutal murder that occurred in Constantine, Algeria, last month. The suspects, all natives of Constantine, were apprehended in Nabeul following close collaboration between Algerian and Tunisian security forces.
The victim, identified as ‘A.B.’, was allegedly attacked on October 13th in the Chali area of Constantine. Preliminary reports suggest a violent altercation led to the fatal assault.
According to sources, the suspects managed to cross the Algerian-Tunisian border illegally. An accomplice, a taxi driver believed to have assisted their escape, was also arrested, along with the suspects’ father, as the investigation commenced in Algeria.
Law enforcement in Nabeul initially apprehended the primary suspect. Subsequent coordinated raids involving judicial police, rapid response units, and tourist police targeted a residence under surveillance, leading to the arrest of the other two brothers. During the raid, authorities seized a quantity of narcotics. All three suspects have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Initial investigations indicate that a severe family dispute between the perpetrators, their father, and the victim, who owned a motorcycle repair shop, may have triggered the violent act. The victim was allegedly ambushed by his neighbor and his sons, armed with bladed weapons. He sustained multiple stab wounds to the head and body, ultimately succumbing to his injuries at a Constantine hospital emergency room. The investigation is ongoing.
