Algiers, Algeria – A significant milestone in the modernization of Algeria’s national air transport was marked today at Houari Boumediene International Airport with the arrival of the first AIRBUS A330-900 aircraft. The aircraft, named “November 54,” was officially handed over to Air Algérie in a ceremony overseen by the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport, Said Sayoud.
This acquisition is part of a strategic program approved by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at modernizing air transport and expanding the airline’s network to more international destinations. The new aircraft is expected to significantly enhance Air Algérie’s capabilities, offering improved passenger comfort, extended range, and greater fuel efficiency.
The “November 54” is equipped with the latest global technologies and represents a qualitative leap in the airline’s service offering. It is anticipated that this addition to the fleet will boost Air Algérie’s regional competitiveness and enhance services for passengers, particularly in the face of increasing demand for international flights and improved connectivity between Algeria and major global hubs.
