Tipaza Wildfires: Authorities Battle Multiple Blazes

Tipaza, November 14, 2025 – Firefighters are battling multiple wildfires across the Tipaza province since yesterday, Thursday. Strong, dry winds sweeping across northern Algeria have exacerbated the situation, hindering firefighting efforts and causing the fires to spread rapidly.

One of the most significant fires broke out in the forests of El Fernane. The Civil Protection Unit of Sidi Amar successfully contained this blaze between 6:24 AM and 7:58 AM today, preventing its spread to neighboring areas.

Efforts to extinguish the fire in Douar Boukhlidja, Arhat municipality, are ongoing. Currently, seven fire trucks, a ground crew, a transport bus, and three mobile columns from Ain Defla, Boumerdes, and Relizane provinces are deployed. A BE200 firefighting aircraft is also being utilized.

In the Bouzoula forest in Cherchell municipality, the fire continues to burn. An operational command center, overseen by the Director-General of Civil Protection, has been established to monitor operations on the ground.

Efforts are also underway to extinguish the fire in the Amarcha forest in the commune of Moussoulmoun. Two fire trucks, supported by a column from the Blida province (5 trucks) and a column from the Medea province (2 trucks), along with a BE200 aircraft, are involved in the operation.

In the Choula forest in Beni Milleuk, intervention is being carried out with the support of a mobile column from the Chlef province, consisting of four trucks. Meanwhile, two fire trucks, supported by three trucks from the Blida column, are tackling a fire in Douar El Ikhoua Mersli in Moussoulmoun municipality.
