Algiers, November 14, 2025 – Several provinces across Algeria are bracing for strong winds today, Friday, according to a special weather alert issued by the National Meteorological Office.
The alert, categorized as Level 1 on the vigilance map, warns of wind speeds ranging between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour. The affected provinces are expected to experience gusts that could potentially disrupt daily activities and pose a risk to vulnerable infrastructure.
The meteorological office has identified the following provinces as being within the affected zone: Chlef, Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Blida, Ain Defla, Medea, Tissemsilt, and Djelfa. Furthermore, the provinces of Laghouat, El Bayadh, Naama, Tiaret, Mascara, Sidi Bel Abbes, and Saida are also included in the weather warning.
Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to secure loose objects, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay informed about the latest weather updates. The National Meteorological Office will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as needed.
