Chlef, Algeria – Prime Minister Sifi Ghrib commenced a field visit to the province of Chlef today, accompanied by key members of his cabinet. The delegation includes the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transportation, Said Saioud, and the Minister of Industry, Yahia Bachir.
The Prime Minister’s agenda is centered on revitalizing the local economy and overseeing the progress of key industrial projects. A highlight of the visit will be the reactivation of the “Captain” industrial and commercial complex, a tuna canning factory that was acquired by the Agrodive holding company following its confiscation in connection with anti-corruption efforts.
Prime Minister Ghrib and his delegation are also scheduled to inspect the expansion of a glass production factory owned by the Chemical Industries holding company. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a bus manufacturing plant for the South Korean brand “Daewoo.” This new facility represents a significant investment in local manufacturing and is expected to create numerous employment opportunities.
This visit to Chlef follows similar engagements in M’Sila and Jijel, underscoring the government’s commitment to assessing the mobilization of economic capacities and monitoring the launch of development projects. A particular focus is being placed on restarting factories, especially those that were seized as part of the ongoing anti-corruption campaign. The government views the reactivation of these industries as crucial for economic growth and job creation in the region.
This visit highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to boost industrial activity and promote economic development across Algeria.
