The massive wildfires broke out yesterday evening in forests across several municipalities within the Tipaza province, including areas in Larhat, Sidi Ghilas, Gouraya, Muslimoun, and Hadjret Ennous. Difficult weather conditions in the region, particularly strong winds exceeding speeds of 60 km/h, contributed to the rapid spread of the flames.

The prompt response of the Civil Protection services is being lauded as crucial in preventing further damage and potential loss of life. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.
The focus now shifts towards assessing the extent of the damage caused by the wildfires and providing support to affected communities. Investigations are also underway to determine the cause of the fires and implement preventative measures to mitigate the risk of future incidents. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the ever-present threat of wildfires, particularly during periods of dry weather and strong winds.
