TIPAZA – Civil Protection services in Tipaza announced this evening that they have successfully brought all remaining hotspots of the forest fires under complete control. The fires had erupted across several areas of the province on Thursday.
According to local radio reports, intervention teams managed to extinguish the flames entirely. Field units are continuing monitoring and surveillance operations, remaining vigilant against any potential flare-ups or reignition.
Significant fires had broken out on Thursday evening in the forests of several municipalities, including Larhat, Sidi Ghilas, Gouraya, Muslimoun, and Hadjeret Ennous. Challenging weather conditions, particularly strong winds exceeding 60 km/h, contributed to the rapid spread of the fires.
DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. The Civil Protection urges residents to remain cautious and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.
The authorities are currently assessing the full extent of the damage caused by the fires. Initial reports suggest that significant areas of forest land have been affected. The focus now shifts to preventing future outbreaks and supporting those impacted by the devastation.
