Algeria Reaffirms Steadfast Support for Palestine

In commemoration of the 37th anniversary of the declaration of the State of Palestine in Algiers, the President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Azzouz Nasseri, underscored Algeria’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. He highlighted the historical significance of the Algiers declaration as a pivotal moment in the Palestinian people’s struggle and a precursor to the international recognition of their state.

Mr. Nasseri emphasized that the declaration served as a crucial step towards unifying Palestinian ranks. He affirmed that Algeria, under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in their pursuit of a just and comprehensive resolution to the conflict.

“Algeria’s position reflects its deep-rooted commitment to justice and its support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state,” Mr. Nasseri stated.

The President’s remarks serve as a powerful reminder of Algeria’s consistent and principled stance on the Palestinian issue, a stance rooted in solidarity and a firm belief in the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. Algeria has long been a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights on the international stage, and this anniversary serves as an opportunity to reaffirm that commitment.

Algeria continues to believe that a lasting and equitable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is essential for regional stability and security. The country maintains its call for a two-state solution, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

This latest expression of support underscores Algeria’s dedication to the Palestinian cause and its enduring solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom and independence.
