Survey to Identify Needy Artisan Families for State Aid

Algiers – The Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industry, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs, will soon launch a comprehensive survey to identify financially vulnerable artisan families across the nation. This initiative aims to facilitate their access to various state-sponsored support programs designed to bolster the traditional crafts sector.

Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Houria Meddahi, affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting artisans, recognizing their vital role in preserving Algeria’s cultural heritage and contributing to the national economy. The survey will provide a clear picture of the socio-economic conditions of artisan families, ensuring that state aid reaches those most in need.

“This is a crucial step in ensuring that the government’s support effectively reaches the intended beneficiaries,” Minister Meddahi stated. “By accurately identifying needy families, we can tailor assistance programs to address their specific challenges and empower them to thrive.”

The support programs available to artisan families encompass a range of benefits, including financial assistance, access to training and skill development opportunities, and support in marketing and promoting their products. The initiative reflects the government’s broader strategy to promote sustainable tourism and foster economic growth in the traditional crafts sector.

DZWatch will continue to monitor the progress of this initiative and provide updates on the implementation of the support programs for artisan families.
