Algiers – Lieutenant General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, today inaugurated a series of modern medical facilities within the First Military Region. This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing healthcare services for military personnel and their families.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, coincided with the ongoing celebrations commemorating the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious November Revolution. The event commenced at the Central Military Hospital in Ain Naadja, where Lieutenant General Chengriha, upon arrival, was greeted by the Commander of the First Military Region, along with a delegation of high-ranking officers from the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the People’s National Army.
Following the welcome ceremony, the Chief of Staff received a detailed presentation from the Central Director of Military Health Services, outlining the newly constructed facilities. These projects are a tangible demonstration of the High Command’s commitment to improving the performance of hospital infrastructure and raising the standard of healthcare provision within the military.
Lieutenant General Chengriha then presided over the commencement of operations at two specialized medical departments within the Central Military Hospital. These departments have been equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment. He received comprehensive explanations from the officers responsible for managing these departments, gaining a thorough understanding of their capabilities.
The Chief of Staff closely inspected the Hyperbaric Medicine Department, which offers advanced hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and the Nuclear Medicine and Radiology Department, which has been enhanced with a new Positron Emission Tomography (PET) unit. This specialized molecular imaging unit is equipped with the latest technology, enabling doctors and specialists to accurately diagnose the location and nature of diseases.
These two departments, constructed in accordance with international health standards and equipped with highly advanced and modern equipment, are poised to deliver high-quality medical services to patients, significantly improving the conditions of their care.
Later, in Blida, Lieutenant General Chengriha, accompanied by the Commander of the First Military Region and the Central Director of Military Health Services, inaugurated the Regional Military University Hospital. The General Manager of the hospital presented a detailed overview of the hospital’s various components and capabilities.
