Tunis, DZWatch – The Tunisian national football team’s preparations for their upcoming friendly against Brazil have been thrown into disarray following visa complications. The Tunisian Football Federation announced that eight players would be unable to travel to Paris for the match due to incomplete visa procedures.
The unexpected setback has forced head coach Sami Trabelsi to reshuffle his plans, relying on a diminished squad for the high-profile friendly. Key players, including left-back Ali Maaloul, are among those affected, depriving the team of crucial experience and talent.
The players unable to secure visas in time include Mohamed Amine Ben Hamida, Ali Maaloul, Hamza Jelassi, Chihab Jbali, Oussama Haddadi, Mahmoud Ghorbal, Issam Jbali, and Mohamed Ben Ali. However, Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane and Seifeddine Jaziri successfully completed their travel arrangements and will be part of the squad.
This collective absence represents a significant blow to the Eagles of Carthage, particularly as the Brazil friendly is considered a vital part of their preparation for both the Arab Cup in Qatar and the Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to take place in Morocco. The coaching staff will now have to adapt their strategy and provide opportunities for other players to step up.
Prior to this disruption, Tunisia played two friendly matches, drawing 1-1 with Mauritania and securing a 3-2 victory against Jordan. The team hopes to overcome these challenges and deliver a competitive performance against Brazil despite the unfortunate circumstances.
