Timimoun, Algeria – Ooredoo Algeria is supporting the inaugural edition of the Timimoun International Short Film Festival, held from November 13th to 18th, 2025, in the city of Timimoun.
The telecommunications company is acting as a sponsor for the festival, which is organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Arts. The festival aims to showcase African cinema and the short film format as powerful tools for artistic expression, dialogue, and social transformation.
According to a statement released by Ooredoo, this initiative reaffirms their commitment to supporting young talent, promoting Algerian cultural diversity, and encouraging local film production. This aligns with Ooredoo’s vision for an inclusive digital and cultural future.
“Ooredoo is proud to partner with the Timimoun International Short Film Festival,” stated a company representative. “We believe in the power of cinema to connect people and cultures, and we are dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation within the Algerian film industry.”
Ooredoo’s support of the festival follows their launch of a national short film scriptwriting competition last July, open to film enthusiasts and those passionate about Algerian history. This competition further demonstrates Ooredoo’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and promoting Algerian stories on screen.
Through this partnership, Ooredoo reinforces its position as a committed player in the promotion of national culture, African cinema, and promising artistic initiatives.
