Alcaraz Reaches ATP Finals Showdown for First Time

Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz has advanced to the final of the prestigious ATP Finals for the first time in his career. The young star secured his place after a dominant victory over Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets at the Pala Alpitour arena in Turin.

The world number one needed just one hour and 23 minutes to dispatch the eighth-ranked Auger-Aliassime, winning 6-2, 6-4. This victory marks Alcaraz’s fifth win against the Canadian in their head-to-head record, against three losses.

At 22 years old, Alcaraz becomes the first Spaniard to reach the ATP Finals final since Rafael Nadal in 2013. He now aims to become the first Spanish player to lift the trophy since Alex Corretja’s triumph in 1998.

Alcaraz is now set for a highly anticipated clash against Italy’s Jannik Sinner, the world number two, in the final on Sunday, concluding an exceptional 2025 season on the ATP tour. This match promises to be a thrilling end to the year.

The season has been largely dominated by Alcaraz and Sinner, who have shared the major titles between them. Together, they have accumulated 13 titles, including four coveted Masters 1000 crowns.

Looking at their head-to-head record, Alcaraz holds a 10-5 advantage over Sinner. Notably, he has won four of their last five encounters this season, all in the finals of significant tournaments. This sets the stage for an epic battle as they vie for the title.
