Algiers, November 16, 2025 – A man has been arrested in Sidi Moussa, Algiers, for allegedly impersonating a member of a law enforcement agency. The arrest was made by the mobile brigade of the judicial police of Sidi Moussa, under the administrative district of Baraki.
According to a statement released by the National Security services, the operation was conducted under the supervision of the competent District Attorney, following intelligence received regarding suspicious activity. The information suggested an individual was seen wearing what appeared to be a security uniform and possessing sensitive equipment.
Following a period of surveillance, the suspect was apprehended. A search of his possessions led to the seizure of a significant amount of equipment, including:
- Two imitation firearms
- Three walkie-talkie radios
- Nine prohibited bladed weapons
- A forged professional card
- A forged rectangular stamp
- A small-sized telescope
- A mask
- A uniform
- A cap
- A belt
- A protective vest
- Two sheaths
The suspect has been presented before the competent District Attorney to face charges related to the unauthorized interference with the functions of law enforcement agencies. He also faces charges for the misuse of a title associated with a legally regulated profession, for which the public authorities have set specific conditions for granting, and for the acquisition and use of classified equipment.
