Algiers, November 16, 2025 – The 13th session of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Commission for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation commenced today in Algiers. The meeting is co-chaired by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Khair Eddine Ben Aissa, and the Deputy Minister of Construction of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Tuong Van.
The two-day commission meeting will feature workshops comprising experts from both nations. In attendance are the Ambassador of Vietnam to Algeria, Tran Quoc Khanh, the Ambassador of Algeria to Vietnam, Azzedine Basha, and the Director-General for Asia and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelmalek Bouheddou.
The discussions are structured around five working groups, gathering experts representing various ministerial departments, institutions, and organizations from both countries. The primary focus will be on evaluating the current state of cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam, exploring avenues to strengthen the legal framework, and supporting future collaborative programs.
The Algerian delegation includes representatives from the Ministries of Industry, Pharmaceutical Industries, Trade, and Finance, as well as the Ministries of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Energy and Renewable Energies, Environment and Quality of Life, Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries, Water Resources, Interior, Local Authorities, Transportation, and Housing, Urban Planning and the City and Spatial Planning.
Furthermore, the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, the Algerian Council for Economic Renewal, and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry are also participating in this session. This joint commission underscores the commitment of both Algeria and Vietnam to deepening their bilateral ties and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships across a wide range of sectors.
