Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – In a development announced Sunday, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) confirmed the release of midfielders Hicham Boudawi and Mohamed Amine Amoura from the national team’s training camp currently underway in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The decision comes ahead of the friendly match scheduled for Tuesday against the Saudi Arabian national team.
Boudawi arrived at the training camp carrying an injury. He underwent a specialized training program in the initial days to manage the pain. However, a recent medical assessment determined that he would be unable to participate in the friendly game. The medical staff advised against his inclusion to avoid potential complications.
Similarly, examinations revealed a minor injury for Amoura, preventing him from participating in the upcoming match. National team coach Vladimir Petkovic, in consultation with the medical team, authorized both players to return to their respective clubs. This decision was made as a precautionary measure to prevent any aggravation of their injuries.
The absence of Boudawi and Amoura will undoubtedly present a challenge for Petkovic as he prepares the team for the friendly against Saudi Arabia. However, the coach expressed confidence in the depth of the squad and the ability of other players to step up in their absence. The focus remains on ensuring the players’ full recovery and availability for future national team commitments. DZWatch will continue to provide updates on the national team’s preparations.
