Algeria Distributes Over 94,000 Housing Units Nationwide

The Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning, and the City has announced the distribution of 94,781 housing units across various provinces of Algeria. This initiative coincides with the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Algerian Revolution.

This allocation represents 65.54% of the total distribution program planned for this occasion, which amounts to 144,601 housing units. The Ministry affirmed that the distribution process will continue until all programmed housing units are allocated.

The distribution encompassed several provinces that have achieved high completion and allocation rates. For example, Adrar saw the distribution of 2,603 units, nearing 100% completion. Bechar distributed 2,153 units, also at 100%. In Djelfa, 7,648 units were distributed, approaching 100% completion, while Sidi Bel Abbes saw 3,263 units distributed at a rate of 96%.

Mostaganem recorded the distribution of 1,726 units at 63%, while Bordj Bou Arreridj distributed 2,180 units at 92%, and Khenchela distributed 2,964 units at 93%.

In a related development, executive bodies within the housing sector have initiated a series of field visits and meetings across several provinces, including Bechar, Khenchela, Bejaia, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Laghouat, El Oued, Oum El Bouaghi, Tissemsilt, Tiaret, Mascara, M’Sila, Tizi Ouzou, Djanet, and Skikda. These monitoring efforts aim to assess the progress of projects, address obstacles, and ensure adherence to project delivery timelines. The ministry aims to expedite housing projects and meet the increasing demand across the country.

The government has reiterated its commitment to providing adequate housing for all citizens.
