Severe Thunderstorms Sweep Across Multiple Algerian Provinces

DZWatch Exclusive: Several regions of Algeria are bracing for severe weather as intense thunderstorms are expected to persist throughout the day and into tomorrow morning. The National Meteorological Office issued a weather advisory, warning of significant rainfall and potential localized flooding.

According to the advisory, rainfall amounts could reach up to 40 millimeters in affected areas. The storms are expected to bring heavy downpours and potential thunder and lightning.

The initial warning, effective from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM today, covers the following provinces: Mostaganem, Chlef, Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Mascara, Saida, Relizane, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Medea, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Naama, and El Bayadh.

A subsequent warning, commencing at 9:00 AM today and extending until dawn tomorrow, includes: Boumerdes, Algiers, Tipaza, Blida, Ain Defla, Oran, Ain Temouchent, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, El Tarf, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Setif, Mila, Constantine, Guelma, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Batna, M’Sila, Djelfa, Laghouat, Ouled Djellal, El M’Ghair, Biskra, Khenchela, Tebessa, and El Oued.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay informed about the latest weather updates. Authorities are on alert and prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise as a result of the severe weather.
