Algeria’s Home-Based Squad Finalizes Egypt Clash Prep; Key Players Absent

The Algerian national team comprised of locally-based players has concluded its preparations for the second friendly match against Egypt. However, playmaker Amir Sayoud will be notably absent from the encounter, according to official statements from the Algerian Football Federation. Left-back Noufel Khassif will also miss the game as a precautionary measure ahead of the upcoming Arab Cup.

Both Sayoud and Khassif were also absent from the first friendly match between the two nations, a game that saw Egypt emerge victorious with a 3-2 scoreline. The coaching staff has opted to rest the players to mitigate any potential risks of injury before the significant Arab Cup tournament.

Under the guidance of coach Madjid Bougherra, the squad completed its final training session in Cairo. The session, held at the training grounds adjacent to Cairo Stadium, involved 24 players and focused on implementing the final tactical adjustments for the anticipated match against Egypt, scheduled for today, Monday, at 3:00 PM Algerian time.

This series of friendlies serves as crucial preparation for the Algerian team ahead of the Arab Cup. Coach Bougherra is expected to announce the final squad list for the tournament in Qatar following the conclusion of the training camp in Cairo. The coaching staff is keen to assess all available players and solidify the team’s strategy before the commencement of the Arab Cup.
