Thunderstorms Expected Across Several Algerian Provinces

Algiers, October 19, 2025 – The National Meteorological Office has issued a severe weather alert, forecasting significant thunderstorms across numerous provinces throughout Algeria today, Sunday.

The warning, released earlier this morning, indicates that heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to begin around midday and continue until approximately 6:00 PM. Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions.

These regions are particularly vulnerable to flash flooding and localized disruptions due to the anticipated heavy rainfall.

Authorities are urging citizens in these provinces to stay informed about the evolving weather conditions and to avoid unnecessary travel during the peak hours of the storm. It is also recommended to secure loose objects and take steps to protect property from potential damage caused by strong winds and heavy rain.
