Local Administration Reshuffle Aims to Boost Development

Algiers, November 17, 2025 – The Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities, and National Planning has announced a partial reshuffle affecting key positions within local administrations across the country. The changes, approved by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, impact General Inspectors in various provinces, Directors of Regulation and General Affairs, Directors of Local Administration, and Delegate Directors of Organization, General Affairs, and Local Administration in several administrative districts.

According to a ministry statement, this movement is designed to accelerate the pace of development throughout Algeria and ensure the strict implementation of decisions made to that effect. The reshuffle also aims to inject greater dynamism into local governance and provide renewed impetus to the local development process.

The ministry emphasized that this initiative reflects a commitment to involving younger professionals in positions of responsibility within local communities. This strategic move is intended to improve administrative performance and enhance the quality of public services delivered to citizens.

General Inspectors in Provinces:

  • Promotion of 6 officials
  • Transfer of 8 officials
  • Retirement of 4 officials
  • Termination of duties for 2 officials

Directors of Regulation and General Affairs:

  • Promotion of 2 officials
  • Transfer of 5 officials

Directors of Local Administration:

  • Promotion of 6 officials
  • Transfer of 9 officials
  • Retirement of 2 officials
  • Termination of duties for 1 official

Delegate Directors of Organization, General Affairs, and Local Administration in Administrative Districts:

  • Promotion of 5 officials

This reshuffle is part of a comprehensive reform process aimed at strengthening the efficiency of local structures and ensuring more effective and professional management to support development across the nation.
