Algeria Hosts First-Ever Electricity Expo 2025

Algiers – Algeria has inaugurated its first international exhibition dedicated to electricity and renewable energy, the ‘Electricity Expo 2025’. The event, which commenced today, November 17, 2025, is being held at the Kasbah Pavilion of the Exhibition Palace in Algiers.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises. The expo will run from November 17th to 19th, under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Renewable Energies.

This inaugural event boasts the participation of over 40 exhibitors, comprising both national and international entities specializing in electricity, smart technologies, sustainable energy solutions, and the development of electrical equipment. It marks a significant step in promoting Algeria’s energy sector.

Minister Adjal, in his opening address, emphasized that the organization of ‘Electricity Expo 2025’ aligns with the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, aimed at developing electrical industries and strengthening their strategic position. He highlighted the expo as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise on the latest innovations in the sector, particularly in areas such as digitalization, new technologies, sustainable solutions, and energy efficiency.

The Minister further stated that the energy transition presents a genuine opportunity to build wealth-generating industries and create new jobs. He stressed the need to strengthen industrial partnerships to increase the national integration rate in the production chain, citing the example of the Sonelgaz group, which has enabled the qualification of 164 manufacturers of electrical equipment and 34 gas specialists since 2005.

The Ministers of Industry and Knowledge Economy also lauded the event, emphasizing the crucial role of renewable energies in driving industrial growth and enhancing the competitiveness of national production. The participation of startups was particularly praised as a concrete realization of the government’s support for innovative enterprises.
