Several provinces across Algeria are experiencing heavy thunderstorms today, Tuesday, according to a special weather alert. The meteorological services have warned of significant rainfall, potentially reaching up to 40mm in certain areas. These unstable weather conditions are expected to persist until dawn on Wednesday.
The alert indicates that substantial thunderstorms are currently affecting the provinces of Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, and Mostaganem, and are expected to continue until midday. A separate warning, issued from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, highlights the risk of significant thunderstorms in Naama, El Bayadh, Bechar, and Beni Abbes.
Furthermore, a second weather advisory predicts heavy thunderstorms from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the provinces of Medea, Tissemsilt, Relizane, Mascara, Tiaret, Saida, Sidi Bel Abbes, El Menia, and Ouargla. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions.
The provinces of Ghardaia, Touggourt, El Oued, Tebessa, and Khenchela are also forecast to experience considerable thunderstorms from midday today until dawn tomorrow, Wednesday. These storms could bring localized flooding and travel disruptions.
Regarding the eastern regions, the meteorological services anticipate significant thunderstorms from midday until 9:00 PM in the provinces of Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf. Stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.
