Timimoun, Algeria – The Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries has inaugurated a joint ministerial task force dedicated to preparing the seventh edition of the International Desert Tourism Festival. The announcement was made earlier today, signaling the commencement of intensified efforts to ensure the event’s success.
The task force comprises representatives from various key government sectors, including Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Interior, Local Authorities and Transportation, Communication, Environment and Quality of Life, Culture and Arts, Health, and the Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises. Their collective expertise will be crucial in coordinating the diverse aspects of the festival.
The seventh edition of the International Desert Tourism Festival is scheduled to take place in Timimoun from December 4th to 6th. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the festival’s governor and central officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries, all of whom are actively involved in the preparations that began last August.
Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Houria Meddahi, emphasized the vital role each ministry plays in ensuring the success of this significant event. She highlighted the festival’s importance in promoting Algerian tourism, particularly desert tourism, which enjoys strong support from the highest levels of government.
During the meeting, the task force reviewed various aspects of the preparations, including the promotional video, event announcement, press release, and the theme for this year’s edition: ‘Timimoun: Authenticity and Hospitality.’ The festival aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and welcoming spirit of the region.
