The National Gendarmerie has issued a warning today, Wednesday, regarding dense fog formation across key roadways in the wilayas of Medea, Djelfa, and Tiaret. Authorities caution that the reduced visibility may impact road safety and urge drivers to exercise extreme caution.
Specifically, dense fog is reported on the North-South highway connecting Berrouaghia and Benchicao in the Medea province. The National Gendarmerie advises motorists to reduce speed and increase following distances. Similar conditions are present on National Route 18, between Chahalla El Adhaoura and Souagui, also in Medea.
In Djelfa, the ‘Tariki’ Traffic Information Center, affiliated with the National Gendarmerie, reports heavy fog along the dual carriageway of National Route 1, linking Djelfa and Ain Oussera. Drivers are advised to use fog lights and avoid unnecessary lane changes.
Furthermore, dense fog has been observed on National Route 14 in the municipality of Ferenda, Tiaret province. The National Gendarmerie strongly recommends that drivers in these affected areas remain vigilant, reduce speed significantly, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Drivers should also ensure their headlights and fog lights are functioning correctly to enhance visibility. Postpone travel if possible until conditions improve.
