Gaza: Israeli Strikes Reported Near Yellow Line, UNRWA Warns of Deteriorating Conditions

Gaza Strip – Tensions remain high as reports emerge of Israeli military activity near the designated ‘Yellow Line’ in the Gaza Strip. Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza confirmed the death of one person west of the Yellow Line in the Qizan al-Najjar area, south of Khan Yunis. Additionally, a woman and her child were reportedly injured in an Israeli drone strike behind the Yellow Line in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Yunis.

According to reports, Israeli forces conducted airstrikes targeting areas beyond the Yellow Line in Bani Suheila. Israeli warplanes also reportedly launched raids east of Gaza City, near the Yellow Line. Simultaneously, Israeli drones allegedly dropped explosive devices while artillery shelling targeted the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of the city. Low-altitude drone flights were observed in these areas.

In a separate incident, the Fishermen’s Union in the Gaza Strip reported that Israeli forces detained three fishermen near the Gaza port, taking them to an undisclosed location. The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that Israel has committed 393 violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into effect, alleging that these violations have resulted in the deaths of 279 Palestinians.

Families of those missing in Israeli prisons staged a protest in front of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, demanding information about the fate of their detained relatives. They called for local and international pressure on Israel to provide details regarding the whereabouts and health conditions of their loved ones.

The Gaza Municipality appealed to the international community for urgent intervention and the provision of necessary equipment to clear roads and enhance emergency capabilities to mitigate the impact of severe weather conditions. The municipality stated it faces significant limitations in addressing rainwater accumulation and sewage overflows due to a shortage of equipment and essential supplies for repairing damaged infrastructure, hindering their ability to respond effectively and exacerbating the crisis.

Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, has warned of the continued deterioration of humanitarian conditions in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need for increased support and assistance to the affected population.
