Algiers – Prime Minister Sifi Grib has urged Vietnamese businesses to capitalize on Algeria’s attractive investment climate, highlighting the nation’s ongoing economic reforms. Speaking at the Algerian-Vietnamese Economic Forum, Grib emphasized that recent structural projects and incentive programs have significantly enhanced Algeria’s appeal to international investors.
The forum, held under the theme “Towards a Productive and Sustainable Economic Partnership,” signals Algeria’s commitment to diversifying its economic partnerships with Vietnam. Priority sectors for collaboration include production, investment, and knowledge sharing, reflecting a new national vision focused on strengthening the domestic economy and fostering productive, sustainable partnerships.
Grib pointed to several large-scale projects underway in Algeria, spanning vital sectors such as infrastructure, mining, water resources, and renewable energy. These initiatives aim to diversify the national economy, generate wealth, and create employment opportunities for young people. Key projects include the Trans-Saharan Road, connecting Algeria with several African countries, and the road linking Algeria and Mauritania, providing crucial trade routes and connecting foreign partners with African markets through Algeria.
Other significant infrastructure projects highlighted include the Bechar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet railway line, designed to boost iron ore production, exploitation, and export. The integrated phosphate production complex in Souk Ahras and the lead and zinc production project in Amizour, Bejaia, were also mentioned, alongside the “Solar” project in renewable energies, aimed at diversifying energy sources and promoting solar energy use.
Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rezig, previously noted Algeria’s strategic geo-economic location and emerging industrial base, further underscoring the country’s potential as a valuable investment destination.
