The advisory forecasts rainfall amounts ranging from 30 to 40 millimeters, with the possibility of exceeding 50 millimeters in certain areas. Provinces expected to be affected by this initial wave of storms include Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, Bouira, and the northern regions of Medea. The alert period for these areas begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday and extends until 6:00 AM on Saturday.

A second, more intense wave of thunderstorms is anticipated to impact other provinces, with rainfall totals predicted to range from 40 to 50 millimeters and potentially surpassing 70 millimeters in localized areas. The provinces under this higher-level warning are Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, northern Setif, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf. This period of intense weather is expected to begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday and continue until 12:00 PM on Saturday.

Residents in the affected provinces are urged to take necessary precautions, including avoiding unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall, securing outdoor belongings, and staying informed about the latest weather updates. DZWatch will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

Authorities are also advising caution near wadis and other waterways, as the heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding. It is crucial to avoid crossing flooded areas, whether on foot or in vehicles. Stay safe and informed.
