Algiers, Algeria – Djezzy is organizing the inaugural edition of the National Innovation Hackathon, “Tech Innov,” scheduled from November 20th to 22nd. This event is a collaborative effort with the National Agency for the Valorization of Research and Technological Development Results (ANVREDET) and is supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The hackathon will take place at the Sidi Abdellah University Technology Center and builds upon the partnership established in 2023 between Djezzy and the Ministry of Higher Education. The core objective is to foster research, innovation, and technological entrepreneurship within Algeria.
Over the course of three days, students, researchers, and project leaders from universities, graduate schools, and startups will converge to develop innovative digital solutions. These solutions will address pressing challenges across various socio-economic sectors. “Tech Innov” aims to stimulate technological creativity, encourage the development of solutions based on modern technologies – including 5G, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, and Big Data – and strengthen collaboration between academia, research, and the digital industry.
The event will also serve as a platform to identify promising projects with the potential to evolve into tangible applications that can be integrated into the national digital ecosystem. This edition will focus on three key themes: 5G and Industries, 5G and Immersive Experiences (XR), and 5G and Social Inclusion.
Participants will receive support from specialized trainers in essential areas such as business plan development, pitching techniques, strategy, and marketing. The final projects will be evaluated by a jury comprised of experts in 5G technologies and innovation, representatives from ANVREDET, and stakeholders from the socio-economic sector.
Winning teams will benefit from support, mentoring, and guidance programs, as well as opportunities for development or Proof of Concept (POC) with Djezzy and its partners. The closing ceremony for this edition will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, at the Sidi Abdellah University Technology Center.
