President Tebboune Launches Key Development Projects in Constantine

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune concluded a working visit to Constantine, eastern Algeria, on Thursday, marked by the launch and inauguration of vital and strategic projects aimed at accelerating the pace of development in the region. The President’s arrival was met with considerable enthusiasm, as thousands of citizens gathered to welcome him and express their appreciation for the significant investments allocated to the province.

The President commenced his visit by laying the foundation stone for a new 500-bed University Hospital Center. The facility, spanning 20 hectares, will feature 24 specialized departments and a pedagogical wing with a capacity of 1,000 students. Following a briefing on the project, President Tebboune emphasized the necessity of establishing health hubs capable of delivering advanced medical services, thereby strengthening the national healthcare system. He highlighted Algeria’s credibility and substantial potential, noting that many developed nations in the medical field have expressed interest in collaborating with the country. He affirmed that Algeria will secure the necessary assistance to advance specialized medical disciplines, emphasizing the importance of training Algerian doctors in highly specialized fields within Algerian universities.

Furthermore, President Tebboune laid the foundation stone for a new sports complex, encompassing a 30,000-seat football stadium, two training grounds, and a 60-room accommodation facility integrated within the stadium. The complex will also feature an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a 2,000-seat multi-sports hall, three tennis courts, a 3,500-vehicle parking area, and an energy hub.

Adding to the day’s accomplishments, the President inaugurated a new pharmaceutical manufacturing complex specializing in the production of respiratory disease inhalers, ear, nose, and throat medications, soft capsules, and cancer drugs. This facility, covering 27,000 square meters, is expected to generate over 500 employment opportunities. In the new urban pole of Sissaoui, the President also laid the foundation stone for further projects, signaling a continued commitment to regional growth and development. The Constantine visit underscores the government’s dedication to investing in critical infrastructure and bolstering key sectors such as healthcare, sports, and pharmaceuticals.
