President Tebboune: Housing Sector Key to Algeria’s Economic Growth

Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized the critical role of the housing sector in Algeria’s national economic development during a visit to Constantine on Thursday. He highlighted the sector’s progress as a key indicator of the country’s overall economic health.

Following briefings on Constantine’s development initiatives, including plans to modernize the old city and various sectoral projects, President Tebboune stated that the ongoing advancements in Algeria’s housing sector position it as a leading economic indicator for national development.

“We are committed to continuous improvement and I personally ensure that governors receive all the necessary support to effectively manage housing projects,” President Tebboune affirmed. He added, “Many predicted that housing would be Algeria’s downfall, but the opposite has occurred. We are addressing this issue effectively, meeting the aspirations of our citizens.” He also noted that the execution of housing projects is now almost entirely Algerian.

Furthermore, President Tebboune underscored the importance of preserving Constantine’s rich architectural and cultural heritage alongside ongoing development projects. After viewing a presentation on the rehabilitation of the old city and the restoration of historical buildings, he expressed his gratitude to all those involved in revitalizing the region’s heritage.
