President Tebboune Inaugurates New Pharmaceutical Complex

Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune today inaugurated a new pharmaceutical manufacturing complex in Constantine during an official visit to the region. The inauguration marks a significant step in Algeria’s efforts to bolster its domestic pharmaceutical industry and reduce reliance on imports.

President Tebboune toured the various production units within the state-of-the-art complex, observing the advanced technologies and processes employed in the manufacturing of a diverse range of medications.

The new facility specializes in the production of several critical pharmaceutical products, including inhalers for respiratory illnesses, medications for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions, and soft gelatin capsules. Furthermore, the complex is equipped to manufacture oncology drugs, addressing a vital need within the Algerian healthcare system.

Spanning an area of 27,000 square meters, the industrial complex represents a substantial investment in the region’s economic development. It is expected to create over 500 new employment opportunities for the local population.

The inauguration of this pharmaceutical complex aligns with the government’s broader strategy to promote local production and strengthen the national economy. By enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities, Algeria aims to ensure a more secure and sustainable supply of essential medicines for its citizens. This investment underscores Algeria’s commitment to improving healthcare access and fostering economic growth through strategic industrial development.
