Algerian Veterans Minister Meets with Vietnamese Prime Minister

Algiers – The Algerian Minister of Veterans Affairs and Beneficiaries, Abdelmalek Tachefift, was received by the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, on Thursday. The meeting took place as part of the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s official visit to Algeria, according to a statement released by the ministry.

The meeting provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions regarding the historical ties between Algeria and Vietnam. These bonds, the statement noted, were forged in the shared struggle against colonialism.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and elevating it to a strategic partnership. This partnership aims to reflect the strength of historical relations and embodies a mutual desire to expand cooperation prospects.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of developing scientific and cultural exchanges, particularly in the areas of historical studies. Furthermore, both parties wish to promote the appreciation of national memory and the preservation of the heritage of the two peoples’ liberation struggle. This will be achieved through enhanced partnerships and cooperation between museum institutions and historical research centers in both countries.

The meeting, the statement concluded, reaffirms the solidity of Algerian-Vietnamese relations and the commitment of both sides to transmit the values of solidarity and liberation to future generations.
