Algiers, November 21, 2025 – Several provinces across Algeria are bracing for severe thunderstorms expected to bring heavy rainfall, according to a recent weather advisory issued by the National Meteorological Office.
The advisory, released earlier today, indicates that rainfall amounts are projected to range between 40 and 50 millimeters in the affected regions. In some areas, rainfall could reach up to 70 millimeters, with the storms expected to persist until midday.
The provinces specifically named in the advisory include Boumerdes, Tizi Ouzou, Bejaia, Setif, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba, and El Tarf. Residents in these areas are urged to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.
A separate weather bulletin forecasts thunderstorms with rainfall amounts ranging from 30 to 40 millimeters, potentially reaching 50 millimeters, for the provinces of Tipaza, Algiers, Blida, Bouira, and Medea. Authorities in these regions are also advising residents to be vigilant and prepared for potential disruptions.
