Constantine, Algeria – President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s working visit to Constantine on Thursday was marked by the launch and inauguration of vital strategic projects aimed at accelerating the region’s development.
Upon arrival in Constantine, the presidential aircraft was escorted by a formation of Algerian Air Force jets. Thousands of citizens gathered in the city center to welcome the President, expressing their appreciation for the significant projects allocated to the province across various sectors.
President Tebboune commenced his visit by laying the foundation stone for a new 500-bed University Hospital Center. The facility, spanning 20 hectares, will house 24 medical departments, various specialized medical units, and a pedagogical wing with a capacity of 1,000 students. After a briefing on the project, the President emphasized the need to establish specialized medical hubs to strengthen the national healthcare system.
“Algeria has credibility and significant potential, which has led many developed countries in the medical field to express their desire to work with us,” President Tebboune stated. He added that Algeria would receive the necessary assistance to advance specialized medical fields, highlighting the importance of training doctors in specialized areas within Algerian universities.
Subsequently, the President laid the foundation stone for a new sports complex. The complex will feature a 30,000-seat football stadium, two training grounds, on-site accommodation with 60 rooms, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The project also includes a 2,000-seat multi-sports hall, three tennis courts, a parking lot with a capacity of 3,500 vehicles, and an energy hub.
President Tebboune also inaugurated a new pharmaceutical manufacturing complex specializing in the production of inhalers for respiratory diseases, ear, nose, and throat medications, and soft capsules. The facility will also produce cancer drugs. The complex spans 27,000 square meters and is expected to create over 500 jobs. The President reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for all Algerians.
In the Sissaoui urban pole, he supervised the laying of the foundation stone for a new housing project, further demonstrating the government’s dedication to meeting the needs of its citizens.
