Constantine, Algeria – The city of Constantine is preparing to host its first-ever competition and exhibition dedicated to goldfinches, their hybrids, and other wild birds. The event, scheduled to commence next Tuesday, will be held at the House of the Environment in Constantine.

The announcement was made on Friday by Amine Fritisse, Vice President of the Constantine Provincial Association of Ornithology and Environment, and Head of the Organizing Committee for the event. Fritisse emphasized the importance of the competition in promoting awareness and appreciation for local avian biodiversity.

“This competition aims to bring together bird enthusiasts, breeders, and researchers from across the region,” stated Fritisse. “We hope to foster a greater understanding of these beautiful creatures and encourage responsible bird keeping practices.”

The competition will feature several categories, judging birds based on their song, plumage, and overall health. Experts in ornithology will serve as judges, ensuring fair and objective evaluations.

Organizers anticipate a significant turnout, with participants expected from various parts of Algeria. The event also aims to raise awareness about the importance of conservation efforts to protect wild bird populations and their habitats.

The exhibition will showcase a variety of bird-related products and services, including bird feed, cages, and educational materials. The House of the Environment will also host workshops and seminars on bird care and conservation throughout the duration of the event.
